New In-House Lead Auditor Certification

At Irvine Springs, we are committed to investing in our staff with training that will not only be of value from a professional development purpose but also a benefit to the service and products we offer to our customers.

Our quality assurance department is managed by one of our longest standing staff members Claire who has been with us for 10 years. Claire has worked in many areas of the business, which has given her a really valuable experience at each stage of production. As our Quality Coordinator, Claire was really keen to gain a qualification as it will provide another aspect to her role.

We arranged for Claire to attend a Lead Auditors course with the training provider Scottish Quality Management Centre – SQMC in May at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

The Lead Auditor Training Course (Quality Management Systems) is the highest level of quality auditor qualification with global accreditation based on ISO 9001:2015. The course consisted of 4 days of learning and continuous assessment with a 2-hour closed book exam on the final day.

The key aspects that will directly benefit the business for our customers are:

Efficiency with checklists, documents and overall interpretation

• Principles, methodology, preparation of a quality audit to ISO 19,011

• Mastering the art of Audit Reporting

• Understanding Corrective & Preventative Action

• Critical evaluation o the ‘Seven Quality Management Principles

Our Sales Manager Chris welcomes this qualification as any direct benefit we can provide to our clients is something Chris is keen to support.

“Having a qualified auditor allows me to confidently advise our customers that our suppliers are meeting the strictest quality requirements. In addition to improving our quality process to be the best in the industry, with the knowledge that our Quality Coordinator Claire has passed this qualification and can put in practice all the key aspects of ensuring the highest quality every time”. – Chris, Sales Manager
