Our quality assurance department is managed by one of our longest standing staff members Claire who has been with us for 10 years. Claire has worked in many areas of the business, which has given her a really valuable experience at each stage of production. As our Quality Coordinator, Claire was really keen to gain a qualification as it will provide another aspect to her role.
We arranged for Claire to attend a Lead Auditors course with the training provider Scottish Quality Management Centre – SQMC in May at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
The Lead Auditor Training Course (Quality Management Systems) is the highest level of quality auditor qualification with global accreditation based on ISO 9001:2015. The course consisted of 4 days of learning and continuous assessment with a 2-hour closed book exam on the final day.
The key aspects that will directly benefit the business for our customers are:
• Efficiency with checklists, documents and overall interpretation
• Principles, methodology, preparation of a quality audit to ISO 19,011
• Mastering the art of Audit Reporting
• Understanding Corrective & Preventative Action
• Critical evaluation o the ‘Seven Quality Management Principles
• Principles and concepts of ‘Quality”
• Understanding how the ‘Plan – Do – Check – Act’ (PDCA) cycle was implemented
• How to prepare the findings and statements of nonconformity
